Gingerbread recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 3 tsp ground ginger 

  • 2 tsp mixed spice 

  • 1 tsp bicarb of soda dissolved in 1/4 cup water 

  • 3 eggs 

  • 1 cup golden syrup

  • pinch salt

  • 1 cup olive oil

  • 1 cup boiled warm water 

  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and then beat for 5 mins. 

Pour into two greased loaf tins.

Bake at 180C / gas 4 for 65 mins.

Serve sliced with butter.
