December Update

Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025

Dear ACT Members, Directors and Supporters.
As we approach the end of another incredible year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all we’ve achieved together in 2024. Amazing Communities Together continues to grow in strength, purpose, and impact, thanks to the dedication of every individual involved.

Achievements of 2024

  • Membership Growth: We’ve grown to 182 members, with ambitions to reach 250 in the coming year.

  • Credit Union Project: We have made amazing progress with setting up a Credit Union in Birmingham, with key volunteers trained, and the union launched prior to our expected date of early 2025.

  • Citizen Science Initiatives: Next Year (2025) we are partnering with Imperial College London, we’ve set the stage for projects on sea water, river water, and air pollution, with the first one planned for February

  • Charity Progress: Slow progress this year, but Adrian Ashton has joined us to support our application to become a Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO), hopefully a significant step for ACT’s future

    Key Events and Milestones:

  • Our first AGM, where we appointed nine directors.

  • Successful partnerships with National Debtline and FFCC, enhancing the support we provide to members.

  • The launch of our website and growth on social media, expanding our reach and engagement.

  • The launch of the "A Time to ACT" series, tackling topics like knife crime and volunteering, with great participation.

    Acknowledgments:
This year’s successes wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of:

  • Our dedicated Directors who guide ACT’s vision.

  • Sue Wilkinson, our Development Manager, whose commitment drives our initiatives forward.

  • Most importantly, you, our members. Your passion and dedication fuel everything we do. Thank you for being the heart of ACT.

    Looking to 2025:

Get ready for an even bigger and better year! With exciting projects on the horizon and plans to amplify our impact, 2025 promises to be transformative for ACT and the communities we serve.

    Final Thoughts:

As we approach the holiday season, I encourage you all to take this time to relax, recover, and cherish moments with your loved ones. The voluntary work we do often asks us to go above and beyond, and the festive period is a chance to reflect and recharge. Enjoy these well-deserved moments of peace and joy.

Thank you once again for your commitment and belief in ACT’s mission. Together, we’re making a lasting difference.

    Warm regards,

    Waqas Arshad

    Communication Lead
